- US stocks recovered on Monday (October 18) after sinking in the red at the beginning of the session, as investors expected strong business results from big companies. Tesla and Netflix shares jump ahead of the release of third-quarter reports this week. At the end of the session, the S&P 500 index advanced 0.3% to 4,486.48 points. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.8 percent to 15,021.80. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 36.15 points (or 0.1%) to 35,258.61 points.
