The Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its first gain in four sessions on Tuesday (Feb 15), after Russia appeared to be backing away from an immediate attack on Ukraine, easing geopolitical tensions that have caused the market to plunge in the past 3 sessions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 422.67 points, or 1.2%, to 34,988.84 at the close, supported by a 3.7% gain in Boeing shares. The S&P 500 gained 1.6% to 4,471.07 and the Nasdaq Composite added 2.5% to 14,139.76.

According to information from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, many commodities, from fertilizers and chemicals to animal feed and iron and steel, recorded a sudden growth in exports in January 2022, most notably fertilizer, which increased by 682 % and chemicals increased by 98.6% over the same period last year.
