Foreign investors traded cautiously, net sold 23 billion dong in session 16/2. Top the list of foreign investors' net selling on HoSE was VNM with nearly 80 billion dong. HPG and HDB were net sold 55.4 billion dong and 34 billion dong respectively. On the other side, VHM was bought the most with a value of 67 billion dong. STB and MSN were net bought at 52.8 billion dong and 48 billion dong respectively.

Asian stocks rose, Japanese market led the region. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 gained 0.3%. The Chinese market rose with the Shanghai Composite up 0.57%. Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.6%. China's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.9 percent year-on-year in January, less than a forecast for a 1 percent increase from Reuters. Producer Price Index (PPI) in January increased by 9.1%, lower than forecast for a 9.5% increase. South Korea's Kospi index rose 1.99%.

According to data of the General Department of Customs, Vietnam's rice exports in January 2022 reached more than 505,700 tons, with a turnover of more than $246 million, up 3.2% in volume and down 2.8% in value compared to the previous month. Despite the decrease in value compared to December 2021, rice export results in the first month of 2022 increased by 46.3% in volume and 29.1% in value over the same period in 2021.

MBB: Demand deposits increased by 47.3% in the past year, helping the CASA ratio to reach 48.7%. CASA's uptrend is the result of a doubling in transaction value related to MB's various digital banking initiatives. In 2021, the MBBank app recorded about 6.3 million new users, accumulating 9.5 million users, an increase of 320% compared to 2020. Bank leaders said that up to now, transactions on digital channels at MB accounted for about 92%. The proportion of digital transactions ranks among the top in Asia.
