US stocks reversed sharply lower on Thursday (April 21), as the rise in US bond yields outweighed optimism from a series of earnings reports from other companies. Ending the session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 368.03 points (equivalent to 1.05%) to 34,792.76 points. The S&P 500 fell 1.48% to 4,393.66 points, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 2.07% to 13,174.65 points.

Outstanding loans (including margin loans and advances) at securities companies continued to set a record with more than 201,176 billion dong as of March 31. However, the margin growth rate was only 3% (6,080 billion dong), significantly slower than the previous quarter's growth rate, which was always at double digits (in the fourth quarter of 2021, it increased by 27%).
