The Dow Jones Industrial Average posted its biggest drop since 2020 on Wednesday (May 18), after another major retail group warned of rising cost pressures, confirming the worst fears. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 1,164.52 points (equivalent to 3.57%) to 31,490.07 points, marking the biggest drop since investors' concerns about rising inflation and triggering a sharp sell-off in 2022. from June 2020. This is also the Dow Jones' lowest closing level since March 2021.
