Gold extended gains on Tuesday and crossed the key USD2,000 level as the dollar and yields fell. The U.S. Labor Department report showed U.S. job openings in February dropped to the lowest level in nearly two years. In addition, a separate report showed new orders for U.S.-manufactured goods fell for a second straight month in February amid ebbing demand for civilian aircraft.

The international dollar fell to a two-month low yesterday after the release of weak economic data. Currently, the overnight VND-USD interest rate differential remains negative, however pressure on the exchange rate is currently not much thanks to the weakening of the international dollar and stable foreign currency supply.
