Keeping the Dow Jones afloat was a 3.2% gain in Johnson & Johnson (JNJ.N). The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq slipped on Wednesday as weaker-than-expected private payrolls data for March deepened worries that the rapid interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve may tip the U.S. economy into a recession. Major technology and growth stocks such as Meta Platforms Inc (META.O), Tesla Inc (TSLA.O) and Amazon.com Inc (AMZN.O) slipped between 0.3% and 1.4% in early trade.

In the international market, the USD depreciated significantly when the market received more new data, redefining the direction of the Fed's interest rate adjustment. In the domestic market, the USD exchange rate recorded many downward adjustments at commercial banks. Specifically, Vietcombank and Sacombank reduced by VND10 and VND18, respectively, in both buying and selling directions.
