US stocks rose slightly on Monday (July 3), continuing the optimism in the first half of the year. Tesla shares jumped 6.9% after the electric-car maker reported production and delivery numbers that beat analyst expectations. Shares of other electric vehicle companies including Rivian, Fisker and Lucid also rose.

Gold prices rose on Monday (July 3), as the dollar and US government bond yields fell due to weak economic indicators. Ending Monday's session, the spot gold contract gained 0.3% to 1,925.85 USD/ounce. Gold futures added 0.2% to 1,934.10 USD/ounce. Gold lost 2.5% in the second quarter of 2023.
