- At the end of October 7 session, US stocks simultaneously increased strongly when President Trump posted a tweet supporting the aid for airlines and a new stimulus package. This raises expectations that lawmakers will approve the aid package soon. The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 530.70 points higher, or 1.9%, at 28,303.46 points. This is the biggest one-day gain for the Dow Jones since mid-July. The S&P 500 rose 1.7 percent to 3,419.45 points, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.9 percent and closed at 11,364.60 points.
