Nasdaq Composite fell sharply in Thursday's trading session as Meta became the latest technology company to release forecasts that did not meet investors' expectations. Besides, the market did not receive any support from the third quarter gross domestic product (GDP) report which was better than forecast. Accordingly, US GDP in the period from July to September grew by 4.9% over the same period last year, higher than the forecast of 4.7% from economists in the Dow Jones poll.
