The Dow Jones index fell on Friday (January 12), as investors received the first round of business results reports of the fourth quarter of 2023 and reviewed the newly released PPI data. UnitedHealth put pressure on the Dow Jones, causing the index to decline, with the stock falling nearly 3.4% despite announcing higher-than-expected revenue and profits in the fourth quarter of 2023. Delta Air Lines shares also dropped nearly 9% even after exceeding quarterly profit expectations.
