The S&P 500 index rose to a record high on Wednesday (June 12), following the latest policy announcement from the US Federal Reserve (Fed) and inflation data in May showing that inflation is falling. Specifically, the consumer price index (CPI) in May was unchanged from the previous month, lower than the forecast of a 0.1% increase from Dow Jones. However, the latest forecast from the Fed shows that there will be only one interest rate cut this year.
