U.S. stocks declined on Friday (May 23) as investors turned cautious ahead of remarks from President Donald Trump. He reignited concerns over trade tensions by issuing a warning to Apple and proposing stricter tariffs on the European Union. However, U.S. stock index futures surged last night after Trump announced he would delay the planned 50% tariff on the EU until July.

The Prime Minister has instructed the State Bank of Vietnam to strengthen state management and quickly narrow the gap between domestic and international gold prices to just 1–2%, stating that it cannot remain over 10% as it recently has.

Proprietary trading desks of securities companies turned to net buying nearly VND200 billion, focusing on SSI (VND61 billion), FPT (VND37 billion), HPG (VND32 billion), and MSN (VND18 billion). On the other hand, they net sold mainly NVL (VND18 billion), VPB (VND12 billion), and GEX (VND12 billion).
