Stocks finished Friday’s session modestly lower after hopes for further stimulus offset some of the declines following President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump’s positive Covid-19 results. The S&P 500 fell 0.96% for its first negative day in three and worst day since Sept. 23. The S&P 500 gained 1.52% this week, snapping a four-week losing streak. Asian stocks climbed with U.S. futures Monday as traders reacted to the possibility President Donald Trump may be able to leave hospital as soon as Monday. The yen retreated with Treasuries.
