- US stocks fell for a second consecutive session on Wednesday (October 14), after comments from US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin reduced expectations of an economic stimulus deal. presidential election on November 3, 2020. At the end of trading on Wednesday, the Dow Jones dropped 165.81 points (0.6%) to 28,514 points. The S&P 500 index retreated 0.7% to 3,488.67 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 0.8% to 11,768.73.
