- At the end of the 30/12 session, US stocks rose slightly in the context of investors being optimistic about the new Covid-19 vaccine and waiting for new signals on the additional stimulus package. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 73.89 points, or 0.2%, to 30,409.56 points. The 30-stock index was close to hitting a record high at the close. The S&P 500 rose 0.1% to 3,732.04 points. Nasdaq Composite rose 0.2 percent to close at 12,870 points. Wednesday marks the fourth most positive session out of the last five for both the Dow and the S&P 500.
