- The US officially approved the USD1.9 trillion bailout package, the S&P 500 set a historic peak. The S&P 500 index rose 1% to 3,939.34 points, regaining its previous record from February 16. The Nasdaq Composite rose 2.5% to 13,398.67, as technology shares flourished. Tesla rose 4.7%, while Apple, Facebook, Alphabet and Netflix all rose at least 3%. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 188.57 points, or 0.6%, to 32,485.59 points. At the beginning of the session, Dow Jones 300 and hit a record high of the day.
