- At the end of April 8, the S&P 500 hit a new record high as technology stocks all rallied. The S&P 500 rose 0.4 percent to 4,097.17 points, closing the record for two consecutive sessions. Nasdaq Composite rose 1% to 13,829.31 points, as Apple, Netflix and Microsoft all rose more than 1%. Amazon and Alphabet also traded in the green. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 57.31 points, or 0.2%, to 33,503.57 points.
