- US stocks rallied on Thursday (May 13), recovering from a steep drop in the previous session, as investors bought back shares after a decline. Closing Thursday's session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 433.79 points to 34,021.45, while the S&P 500 gained 1.2% to 4,112.50. All sectors except energy closed the session in green. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.7 percent to 13,124.99 as investors tried to pick up some tech winners.
