- US stocks rallied on Friday (June 4), as an important May jobs report showed solid gains, boosting confidence in the economy's recovery. Closing Friday's session, the S&P 500 gained 0.9 percent to 4,229.89, just 0.2 percent below its all-time high hit last month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 179.35 points to 34,756.39. The Nasdaq Composite Index rose nearly 1.5% to 13,814.49 points.
