- The S&P 500 index was mostly flat on Tuesday (June 8), as the index once again failed to hit an all-time high since May. Closing Tuesday's session, the S&P index once again failed to hit an all-time high since May. S&P 500 dropped nearly 1 point to 4,227.26 points, only 0.3% lower than the record high of 4,238.04 points recorded on May 7. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 30.42 points, or 0.1%, to 34,599.82, while the Nasdaq Composite added 0.3% to 13,924.91 points.
