- US stocks fell on Friday (July 16), sending the Dow Jones in the red for the past week, as inflation concerns overshadowed strong retail sales and better-than-expected earnings reports. Ending the session, the Dow Jones fell 299.17 points (or 0.86%) to 34,687.85 points. The S&P 500 fell 0.75% to 4,327.16 and the Nasdaq Composite lost 0.8% to 14,427.24.
