- Dow Jones fell back on Monday (August 9) on worries about global growth, after the index climbed to a record high late in the session on August 6. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index dropped 106.66 points (or 0.3%) to 35,101.85 points. The S&P 500 index fell 0.1% to 4,432.35 points. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite index edged up 0.16% to 14,860.18 points.
