- US stocks continued to rally on Thursday (August 12), sending both the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 to new record highs in a quiet session. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index rose 14.88 points to 35,499.85 points, closing a record high. The S&P 500 index advanced 0.3% to 4,460.83 points, also recording a new record. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.3% to 14,816.26 points.
