- US stocks rallied on Friday (August 27) towards a green week, as Fed Chairman Jerome Powell signaled to the market that the central bank would withdraw some monetary easing measures currency, said the Fed is likely to begin reducing its monthly bond purchases by $120 billion this year. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index rose 242.68 points (0.6%) to 35,455.80 points. The S&P 500 Index advanced 0.8% to a new high of 4,509.37. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 1.2% to a record high of 15,129.50.
