- European stocks closed near record highs on September 6, led by technology stocks, as a sudden increase in German manufacturing orders showed global demand was improving. Closing this session, the European stock index STOXX 600 gained 0.7% to 475.19 points, close to the all-time high of 476.16 points recorded in the session on August 13. However, trading activity remained sparse as the US stock market was closed for a holiday.
