Closing Thursday's session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 63.07 points, or 0.2%, to 34,751.32 points, after falling 274 points at the beginning of the session. The S&P 500 index lost nearly 0.2% to 4,473.76 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index edged up 0.1% to 15,181.90.
