- US stocks rose on Wednesday (September 22), after Fed signaled it would not immediately withdraw the monetary stimulus measures that have been supporting the economy in the past. throughout the pandemic. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones index rose 338.48 points (1%) to 34,258.32 points, ending a series of 4 consecutive declines. The S&P 500 index advanced nearly 1% to 4,395.64 points as the energy sector jumped 3.2%. The S&P 500 also recorded its first gain in five sessions. Nasdaq Composite added 1% to 14,896.80 points
