- US stocks rose sharply on Thursday (October 14) after more upbeat reports from Walgreens Boots Alliance, United Health, Bank of America and other large companies. At the end of the session, the S&P 500 index advanced 1.7% to 4,438.23 points, witnessing the biggest gain since March 2021. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 534.75 points, or 1.6%, to 34,912.56 points. The Nasdaq Composite added 1.7% to 14,823.40.

- The IMF has just released its World Economic Outlook (WEO), showing that disruptions in supply chains and price pressures are holding back the recovery of the world economy after the COVID-19 pandemic. -19. Accordingly, the IMF reduced its forecast for global growth in 2021 to 5.9% from 6%, and kept the forecast for 2022 at 4.9%.
