- The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged to a record high on Wednesday (October 20), as investor sentiment was bolstered by better-than-expected earnings reports and Bitcoin hitting a new record. Closing the session, the Dow Jones advanced 152.03 points, or 0.4%, to 35,609.34 points, touching an all-time high of 35,669.69 points at the beginning of the session. Although it has broken past its August peak for the session, the index is still 0.1 percent away from its all-time high close.

- After the VN-Index fell deeper than 18 points just before ATC session, foreign investors increased selling pressure to take profit, pushing the net selling scale at HOSE to 1,362b dong, nearly 3 times higher than the previous session. Liquidity on HOSE reached nearly 846m shares, equivalent to 23,780b dong, up more than 3,400b dong compared to the previous session.
