- US stocks rallied on Monday (December 27), as markets reopened after the Christmas break and investors assessed the infection of the Omicron variant. Closing the session, the S&P 500 index advanced nearly 1.4% to 4,791.19 points, marking a record high close of 69th for the year. The S&P 500 also set a session record for the first time in more than a month. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 351.82 points, or 1%, to 36,302.38. The Nasdaq Composite added 1.4% to 15,871.30 points.
