The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose for a second straight session since early 2022 on Tuesday, as investors bet on stocks that will benefit from a strong economy this year despite threat from the Omicron variant. Ending the session, the Dow Jones advanced 214.59 points (0.5%) to close a record high of 36,799.65 points and hit a new record earlier in the session. The S&P 500 index also posted a record high of the session, but was held back somewhat by the decline in technology shares. The S&P 500 closed 0.06% down at 4,793.54 points.
