US stocks made an impressive comeback on Monday (January 24), when investors stepped in to buy technology stocks that were falling deeply after a sharp sell-off at the beginning of the session. At the end of the session, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 99.13 points, or 0.3%, to 34,364.50 points, the first increase in the past 7 sessions. The S&P 500 index advanced 0.3% to 4,410.13 points. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.6 percent to 13,855.10. The Russell 2000 small-cap index also closed higher.

According to the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), open market operations (OMO) have just recorded a winning volume of nearly 1,060 billion dong in the last trading week (January 17-21). This is the first week of liquidity injection since the beginning of the year. Previously, on the last day of 2021, the State Bank successfully bid to buy nearly 10,000 billion VND of valuable papers with two members participating and winning the bid, with interest rate of 2.5%/year, term of 14 days

All efforts of the banking industry to prop up the market were completely in vain when up to 160 stocks fell to the floor in today's trading session (January 24). Notably, VCB broke out and set a new peak at 93,000 VND/share. The whole market recorded more than 850 losers that completely overwhelmed the number of gainers, there were more than 160 stocks that fell to the floor.
