US stocks fell after a not-so-active session in the context that investor sentiment continued to be affected by the interest rate outlook of the US Federal Reserve (Fed). The S&P 500 index fell 9.26 points, or 0.2%, to 4,128.73. The index fell 3.6% in the last three trading sessions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 154.02 points, or 0.47%, to 32,909.59 points. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 0.27 points, or 0.0022%, to 12,381.3.

At the end of the session on August 23, foreign investors had the 3rd consecutive net selling session on HoSE with the value down 68% compared to the previous session and at VND73 billion, equivalent to the volume of 2.5 million shares. Foreign investors on HoSE were the strongest net buyers of VNM with VND162 billion, while VHM was sold the most with VND45 billion.
