US stocks fell on September 2, marking a third consecutive week of decline as the latest jobs report was not enough to dispel concerns that the US Federal Reserve (Fed) continued to increase interest rates. Accordingly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 337.98 points, or 1.1%, to 31,318.44 points. The S&P 500 index fell 1.07% to 3,924.26. The Nasdaq Composite Index fell 1.3% to 11,630.86 points.

According to the Hanoi Department of Planning and Investment, in the past 8 months, the city has attracted over 992 million USD in foreign direct investment (FDI), an increase of 49.6% over the same period last year. In which, the number of new registrations in the past 8 months reached 226 projects with a capital of over 140 million USD, an increase of more than 19% over the same period; there are over 120 additional projects to increase investment capital with over 374 million USD, up 16%.

Ending the last trading session of August, VN-Index stood at 1,280.51 points, corresponding to an increase of 71.18 points (6.15%) compared to the end of July.
