VNIndex suddenly increased strongly at the end of the session, VHM continued to lead the gaining momentum, affecting the market. On the other side, VCB and BID dropped sharply, putting pressure on VNIndex. The highlight of VN30 today is that NVL has hit the ceiling price. Foreign investors net sold strongly with a value of more than VND571 billion on HOSE, focusing on STB (VND106 billion), VND (VND82 billion).

Korean stocks tied to the electric-vehicles’ battery space extended this year’s frenzied rally, with market watchers citing a slew of positive developments in the sector. In addition, South Korea's financial regulator said on Tuesday the government would set up a 1 trillion won (USD758.97 million) public fund to support companies that are undergoing a restructuring process.

Overnight interbank interest rates surged sharply in recent sessions, showing temporary signs of stress in system liquidity. The overnight VND-USD swap reversed to positive, however, it will not have a big impact on exchange rate movements in the market thanks to the positive supply of foreign currency.

According to the survey results on business trends of credit institutions in Q2/2023, deposits of the credit institution system are expected to increase by an average of 3.2% in Q2/2023 and increase by 9.2% in 2023, a slight decrease compared to the rate of 10% according to previous survey results. Credit balance of the banking system is forecast to increase by 4% in Q2/2023 and increase by 13.1% in 2023, down 0.6 percentage points from the forecast of 13.7% in the previous survey period.
