The Nasdaq Composite Index fell on Friday (August 11) and recorded two consecutive weeks of declines in 2023, as semiconductor stocks weakened. The S&P 500 index fell 0.1% to 4,464.05 points. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones index advanced 105.25 points (or 0.3%) to 35,281.40 points. The index was boosted by 2.1% and 1.8% gains in Chevron and Merck & Co shares, respectively.
