U.S. stocks dropped Wednesday as earnings season gained steam and Treasury yields climbed to multiyear highs. The 10-year Treasury yield climbed on Wednesday, breaking above 4.9% for the first time since 2007. Morgan Stanley dropped 6.8% and notched its worst day since 2020. On the other hand, Procter & Gamble rose 2.6% after beating analyst expectations for the quarter. Chip stocks such as Nvidia and Advanced Micro Devices struggled for a second session as investors continued selling off.

The international dollar edged higher as 10-year US Treasury yields hit a 16-year peak. In the domestic market, the selling rate at Vietcombank also set a new record when it soared past the USD/VND 24,700 mark this morning.
