Asian stocks were mixed on Thursday. While the Chinese market increased, the Japanese and Korean stock markets sold off on a large scale and led the decline in the region when the Nikkei 225 index down 2.14% and the Kospi Index fell 2.71%. Korean chip industry giant SK Hynix dropped sharply because of negative third-quarter financial reports. In the third quarter, SK Hynix had a net loss of 2.18 trillion Won (USD1.61 billion), while in the same period last year net profit recognized 1.11 trillion Won.

According to the latest data announced by the State Bank, the average interbank VND interest rate at the overnight term in the October 25 session increased sharply to 2.84% from 1.47% recorded in the previous session (20/10). This is the highest interest rate since mid-June 2023 and much higher than deposit interest rates for terms of less than 1 month of banks (0.1 - 0.5%/year).

SSI: Q3/2023, SSI recorded high growth in revenue from the brokerage segment, up 58% over the same period and 59% over the previous quarter, respectively. SSI gross profit reached nearly VND141 billion VND from this activity in the third quarter, more than 3 times higher than the same period in 2022. Gross profit margin also improved significantly from 12.5% to 26.3%.
