The Nasdaq ended sharply lower on Thursday, hit by losses in Nvidia, Apple and Tesla as investors rotated into smaller companies.The S&P 500 also lost ground after a Labor Department report showed U.S. consumer prices fell unexpectedly in June and the annual increase was the smallest in a year, drawing the Fed closer a September rate cut. The CPI dipped 0.1% last month, the first drop since May 2020; increases 3% yoy. Core CPI gains 0.1%; rises 3.3% yoy.

The dollar dropped on Thursday after data showed headline consumer prices unexpectedly fell in June. Oil prices rose in early Asian trading hours as signs of strong summer demand and easing inflationary pressures in the world's biggest oil market, the United States.
