U.S. stocks tumbled on Thursday as investors sold both technology stocks and groups that have recently increased. All three major U.S. stock indexes suffered losses, and Nasdaq posted its biggest one-day drop since 2022 as the chip sector plunged. The Market Volatility index VIX, often called the "fear index", touched its highest level since early May.

On July 19 morning, SBV announced the central exchange rate of USD decreased by VND5, currently at 24,251 VND/USD. The exchange rate on the free market increased by VND25 to 25,535 VND/USD on the buying side and VND15 on the selling side at 25,615 VND/USD.
