On October 10, VNIndex continued to fail when trying to surpass 1,300 points. Steel stocks fell when the recovery momentum of Chinese steel prices slowed down. Specifically, HSG -1.9%, VGS and NKG -1.6%, HPG -0.9%. On the contrary, FPT shares surpassed the historical peak with an increase of 4.7%.

Asia-Pacific markets closed higher on Thursday. China's central bank said it would start accepting applications from financial institutions to join a newly created funding scheme, initially worth CNY500 billion (USD70.62 billion), to aid the capital market. The People's Bank of China said eligible securities firms, fund companies and insurers can apply to join the swap scheme, which gives them easier access to funding to buy stocks. The announcement came after Chinese stocks tumbled on Wednesday.
