Wall Street closed lower on Wednesday, as climbing Treasury yields pressured megacap stocks, while corporate news pressured McDonald's and Coca-Cola. Among rate-sensitive megacaps, Nvidia fell 2.81%, Apple 2.16%, Meta Platforms 3.15% and Amazon slid 2.63%, dragging on the tech-laden Nasdaq. McDonald tumbled 5.12% after an E. coli infection linked to its Quarter Pounder hamburgers killed one and sickened many.

Oil prices edged higher on Thursday, recouping some of the more than 1% losses from the previous session after U.S. crude inventories rose much more than estimated. U.S. crude inventories rose by 5.5 million barrels last week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Wednesday, compared with analysts' expectations in a Reuters poll for a 270,000-barrel rise.
