U.S. stocks rose on Thursday (May 8), after President Donald Trump announced the framework of a trade agreement between the U.S. and the U.K. — the first major deal signed since the U.S. imposed tariffs on most countries earlier this year. At the close of trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 254.48 points (or 0.62%) to 41,368.57. The S&P 500 gained 0.58% to 5,663.95, while the Nasdaq Composite advanced 1.07% to 17,928.14.
