Global stock markets surged on May 12 following the announcement of a 90-day trade truce between the U.S. and China. Major Wall Street indices soared at the opening bell and maintained their upward momentum throughout most of the session. The S&P 500 closed up 3.3% at 5,844.17 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 2.8% to 42,410.10 points, while the Nasdaq Composite, dominated by technology stocks, gained 4.4% to 18,708.34 points.

The VN-Index also rallied sharply in response to the positive outcome of trade talks between China and the U.S. However, foreign investors continued to net sell approximately VND297 billion, mainly offloading VCB (VND222 billion), HPG (VND157 billion), and STB (VND114 billion). In contrast, net buying was focused on FPT (VND239 billion), GVR (VND64 billion), and PNJ (VND49 billion).
