All three major U.S. stock indexes closed at record highs on Tuesday (September 9), as investors looked past concerns about the U.S. economy. Worries grew after the Bureau of Labor Statistics revised job numbers for the 12 months through March 2025, showing 911,000 jobs cut — the largest adjustment since 2002 and higher than Wall Street forecasts. However, the data had little impact on equities since it reflected conditions six months ago; in fact, the negative tone added pressure on the Federal Reserve to cut rates more aggressively this year.
