Wall Street rose on Monday, September 29, driven by gains in artificial intelligence stocks. Nvidia ended the session up 2%, while other AI-related names such as Advanced Micro Devices and Micron Technology gained more than 1% and over 4%, respectively. Electronic Arts surged 4.5% after the video game company announced plans to go private in a USD55 billion deal. According to Goldman Sachs, announced mergers and acquisitions in the U.S. have surpassed USD1 trillion so far this year, up 29% from the same period last year.

U.S. President Donald Trump and his Democratic rivals appeared to make little progress in a White House meeting aimed at averting a government shutdown. After the talks, both sides blamed each other for potential responsibility if Congress fails to pass a spending bill before the Tuesday midnight deadline. Vice President JD Vance stated: “I think we are getting close to a government shutdown.”

Domestic proprietary traders continued their selling streak for a fourth consecutive session with a net value of VND449 billion, led by heavy selling in EIB (259 billion), VPB (111 billion), and DXG (41 billion). On the other hand, they bought SHB (54 billion), ACB (48 billion), and HPG (44 billion).
