Wall Street continued to set new records thanks to optimism about increased mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activity after two major deals were announced. Specifically, AMD shares surged by nearly 24% after the company reached an agreement with Sam Altman’s leading AI firm, which could allow ChatGPT to hold a 10% stake in the chipmaker. In addition, Comerica shares jumped almost 14% after Fifth Third Bancorp agreed to acquire the regional bank for USD10.9 billion. The merger would create the ninth-largest bank in the U.S. by assets.

Gross domestic product (GDP) in Q3 2025 is estimated to have grown 8.23% year over year. GDP for the first nine months of 2025 is estimated to have risen 7.85% from a year earlier. By sector: agriculture, forestry and fisheries increased 3.83%, contributing 5.36% to the overall rise in value added; industry and construction rose 8.69%, contributing 43.05%; services grew 8.49%, contributing 51.59%.
