The Asian stock markets surged strongly in the first trading session of the week as dovish remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump helped ease concerns over trade tensions with China. Meanwhile, the Tokyo market broke through to a new record high on news of a political agreement in Japan, with the ruling coalition reaching an accord to pave the way for Sanae Takaichi to become Japan’s Prime Minister.

After a sharp drop late last week, the prices of SJC gold bars and 18K gold jewelry both strongly rebounded on October 20. In contrast, plain gold rings and 24K gold jewelry fluctuated in opposite directions. However, at Bao Tin Minh Chau, the selling price remained higher than SJC gold bars by 6.4 to 7 million VND per tael.
