U.S. stocks rose sharply after President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with Iran. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices fell more than 16% to $94.41 per barrel, marking the sharpest intraday decline since April 2020. Even so, the ceasefire is in danger of falling apart when Iran moves to close the Strait of Hormuz. The derivatives and Asian markets began to decline again.
